Walk Details

As part of preparation to walk the GPT E2E, this is the third of three training walks. These will give participants a foretaste of the level of fitness and walk pace required to walk the entire GPT as day walks.

This is a circuit walk starting in Halls Gap. We climb steeply up the front track under Cherub (Mackeys) Peak to the Pinnacle.  There are a lot of steps. From this often crowded lookout, we cross via the GPT to Sundial car park then to the less crowded Sundial. Then a steep descent down to Lake Bellfield. Finally, we follow the bike/walk track back to Halls Gap along the valley floor.

This is the last qualifying walk before we start the E2E hike of the GPT on Sunday the 13th of September. If you have not done a training walk or other club walk before this (which is a prerequisite), then please contact Julie ASAP if you wish to participate in the GPT E2E walks program.

Please see the attached recent photo of the walk.
