Who is This Walk For:
This is an introductory track walk suitable for beginners with a good level of fitness, and for locals who are interested in meeting like-minded friendly walkers and getting out more in nature.
Walk Details
Starting at Brambuk NP and cultural centre in Halls Gap, the track initially follows the valley of Fyans creek then branches up onto the range to the east of Halls Gap. From the ridgeline and the summit, there are panoramic views of the Wonderland Range to the west, Mt William to the South, and the upper Wimmera plains and the Pyrenees to the East. A range of forest types, including messmates and native pines, have a diverse understory. There are steeper sections and some rock scrambling near the summit. The path is uneven with rocks and tree roots in places. From the summit we return by the same route.
We will meet in Stawell to carpool to the walk start. After the walk, we can stop in Halls Gap for coffee or ice cream before heading home.
